Winemaker’s Tasting Notes
The 1999 Twomey Merlot is a wine of exquisite concentration, depth and finesse. It has a garnet color and a complex nose of blackberry, black licorice, chocolate and coffee. Within a rich, silky texture, it expresses the luscious fruit character developed by the unique conditions of the Soda Canyon Ranch. The tannins are firm and integrate smoothly throughout an extremely long finish. Given proper cellaring, this Merlot will continue to give drinking pleasure until 2014.
