Pinot Noir
Vineyard
Twomey Pinot Noir originates in the heart of the Russian River Valley, legendary for its extraordinary Pinot Noir. Our nine-acre West Pin vineyard is the ideal site for this temperamental grape, with a climate that’s cool enough to preserve its delicate character but warm enough to ripen the fruit consistently each year. The vineyard is planted with a mix of Dijon, Pommard and Martini clones, with each contributing different characteristics to the final blend.
In the 2006 vintage we began sourcing Pinot Noir fruit from a vineyard in Forestville, whose proximity to the Pacific Ocean, cooler temperatures and fine, sandy loam soils produce wines of extraordinary delicacy. Planted with a blend of clones, including 420A, Mt. Eden, Dijon 115, Dijon 777, Swan, Calera and Pommard, this vineyard heightens the complexity of our Pinot Noir and has proven to be a wonderful complement to the wines from our West Pin Vineyard.
